Romy Blystone is the newest member of the WPFF/WNLI Business Development team. His market extends from Oconto County (WI) to Marquette County (MI). He also owns FRIENDLY Web Design - a small web design, hosting, marketing, consulting, and training company located in Marinette, WI. Since 1996, Romy has been helping clients build their online presence through websites, advertising/marketing, social media, etc., and now he's excited to bring that knowledge and experience to WPFF/WNLI.
Born outside of Detroit, MI in 1971, Romy moved to Menominee, MI in 1973 and then to Marinette, WI in 1975. He graduated from Marinette High School in 1989 and attended UW-Whitewater from 1989-1993. Romy is currently enrolled at UW-Green Bay finishing his degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a self-directed emphasis related to working with at-risk youth.
On a more personal note, at age 15, Romy was introduced to a loving God through a very special youth group leader and classmates who reached out to him during some of the darkest times in his life.
"I had just run away from home and felt utterly lost in the world. Having been shuffled between the homes of friends, foster homes, and a group home, I finally found what I was looking for in Jesus."
Today, Romy is a follower of Jesus Christ, a husband to his beautiful bride Brenda; and a father to his three gifted and talented children: Hannah, Lauryn, and Ayden.
As a response to the beauty Romy found in relationship with Christ, he has spent the majority of his adult life working with children serving as a youth sports coach (1993 to present); a group home caregiver (2000-2013); a small groups leader (2008 to present), and a friend to all who have welcomed him into their lives.
"We all crave love, acceptance, forgiveness, etc. Once I let Him in, I soon realized that He offered all these things... and so much more. Since then, the journey has been about allowing Him to continue to break down the walls I had built around my heart and instead build bridges between me, Him, and others. It's been quite the adventure so far and I feel incredibly blessed to have traveled so many miles with Him at my side... needless to say, I look forward to many more."
